Welcome to the website for the Todmorden Hippodrome Theatre owned and run by the Todmorden Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (T.A.O.D.S.). Situated in the Upper Calder Valley, between Manchester and Leeds, we're one of the largest community run theatres in the UK. Despite holding out for a meeting in person this is not going to be possible in 2020, so the AGM has been arranged online via Zoom. The relevant reports are available HERE alongside the invitation to the AGM meeting.

On advice from the government, the Hippodrome Theatre will be closed until the situation changes. Events currently scheduled until the end of 2020 are cancelled. This includes our production of Guys and Dolls for which full refunds will be given. No bookings for any other production will be taken at the present time.
'In response to the Prime Minister’s statement this evening, advising the public to avoid unnecessary social contact, including in theatres, we regret to inform you that all events at the Hippodrome are temporarily suspended.
Given the current ambiguity and lack of clarity as to how long our lovely community run theatre may be closed for, we have taken the decision to cancel all
of our events up until the end of April 2020 including our forthcoming production of Guys and Dolls. For anyone who has booked tickets through our website or the 0333 663366 phone number you will receive an automatic refund. You will receive further information on this directly from our ticket selling partner TicketSource within the next 72 hours. If you booked tickets through the Information Centre in Todmorden please contact them on 0170681818 or in person to process your refund. For any of our members who have booked directly through the Hippodrome please either DM us or drop us an email at [email protected] with your details and we’ll arrange your refund.
We will update everyone on the situation regarding events at the Hippodrome due to take place after April when we hopefully receive more information from the government. At the moment we are suspending tickets sales for these events but all bookings are secure.
In these uncertain and anxious times we want to thank all our supporters, friends and members for the lovely messages of support we have received. As one of the UK’s largest community run theatres this is going to be a difficult time for us but theatre folk are resilient and rest assured, we’ll be back…
